James Wagura Mwangi is the CEO and Founding Partner of Greenleaf Realtors Ltd. James arrived in the U.S.A in 1999 as a teenager to study. In 2004, he graduated with a Bsc. in Chemical Engineering and soon later with a Master of Science in the same course. James worked for the State of Florida as an Environmental Consulting Engineer doing remediation of petroleum contaminated sites. In 2012, James decided to venture in business in USA where he has started, managed and grown many businesses and companies in import-export; distribution; retails; transportation, healthcare among others. In 2014, driven by an urgent need to relocate to Kenya, he started buying land and properties as a financial cushion for his return. Gaining success and passion to empower friends and acquaintances in diaspora, James started buying land in bulk and retailing to Kenyans in diaspora which brought him to where he is now and doing what he loves to do – empowering fellow Kenyans in diaspora.
While in the university, James was the Secretary of Alabama Africans Association for 3 years later becoming the chairman for 5years. In Seattle, Washington, where he resides while in the USA, he works closely with the community and is a volunteering board member of Northwest Kenyan Community Association where he has served since 2017. Further, James is a representative of Family Bank Kenya in the Northwest, USA.
Having studied, lived, and worked in the USA for over 20 years, James not only has first-class knowledge of what it takes to save money in diaspora but also the treacherous roads walked, and betrayal encountered by the Kenyan diaspora in pursuit of investing back home. His goal is to allow you, fellow diaspora, to invest with confidence and reap the fruit of your sweat.
